A Note From Our Founder

I'm Jason Kimani Gäckle, founder of Kamara, a Kenya-born entrepreneur building technology-driven businesses around problems I believe should be solved differently.

I founded Kamara in Nairobi, Kenya with a simple idea: discovering and buying beautiful furniture and home essentials in Kenya should not be as difficult as it is.

Across Kenya, there are talented independent furniture makers, workshops, designers and home brands creating remarkable products. Yet much of this industry remains fragmented. Customers often have to move between physical shops, social media pages, referrals and endless conversations simply to discover products, compare options and make a purchase with confidence.

Kamara was built to change that.

Today, Kamara is Kenya's curated digital marketplace for furniture and home essentials, bringing verified independent vendors and their products into one platform where customers can discover, compare, source and purchase pieces for their homes and spaces.

For me, Kamara has never been about simply building another online store. The larger ambition is to create the digital infrastructure that helps exceptional African businesses become easier to discover and easier to buy from.

I believe some of the most exciting companies of the next generation will be built in Africa, solving problems that have existed around us for decades.

Kamara is my contribution to that future.
