The 5 Seater Channelled Sofa is a five seater sofa handcrafted in Kenya on a bluegum frame. The silhouette is built around a vertically channelled back, a long uninterrupted seat and two heavy rounded arms that curl inward like bolsters. Each channel is drawn by hand, so the ribbing reads as a rhythm rather than a machined repeat. The proportions are low and generous, closer to a daybed than a formal parlour piece. Bluegum forms the frame beneath the upholstery. The covering is a soft ochre-gold with a lightly mottled, washed surface that shifts tone as light moves across it, deeper in the channel valleys and paler along the crowns. Slim brass-toned bands wrap the outer face of each arm, the only hard detail on an otherwise entirely soft form. The seat is a single cushion, which keeps the front edge clean and unbroken from arm to arm. This sofa suits a main sitting room where people spread out rather than perch.
