The Ndovu Sofa is a two-seat sofa handcrafted in Kenya. Its tub-shaped silhouette is built to a single low line, with the back and arms rising to the same height before turning inward at the front. The buttoning across the inner back has been worked by hand, each point drawn down evenly so the upholstery gathers into soft, regular folds. The frame is upholstered in a sand-toned fabric with a quiet matte surface that shifts tone where the light falls across it. A row of dome-headed studs traces the outer arms and follows the front edge of the seat, giving the sofa a defined outline against its own softness. A single deep seat cushion runs the full width rather than splitting into two, and the whole piece sits on short, dark tapered legs. This is a sofa scaled for a sitting room corner, a wide landing or the end of a long room where a full three-seater would crowd the floor. It reads well against a woven rug and a low round table, and it takes a patterned cushion without competition. Placed near a window, the buttoned back catches raking afternoon light. Upholstery work of this kind is a studio craft in Kenya, where frame-making, padding and hand-tufting are usually carried out by the same small team. Buying through Kamara connects you to that workshop directly, and to a piece assembled by people who worked on it from frame to final stud.
