The Cafira Sofa is a two-seater sofa handcrafted in Kenya. It was drawn around soft geometry rather than sharp lines, so the arms curve outward and the back rolls gently into them without a visible break. The channelling that runs across the arms, back and seat front is worked in even vertical lines, a detail that rewards a second look and shows the hand that set the spacing. The frame is upholstered in a pale, lightly textured fabric in a soft grey tone, lifted just off the floor on short rounded feet in a warm timber. Two broad seat cushions sit flush within the low arms, and a continuous back cushion keeps the profile calm and unbroken. Piping traces the arm seams, and the surface reads matte and quietly nubbly in daylight. This sofa suits a living room where the palette is already warm and neutral. It sits comfortably on a woven rug, faces a low stone or timber coffee table, and pairs naturally with a matching armchair to close a seating group. Patterned cushions read well against the plain upholstery, and the low back keeps sightlines open in rooms with tall windows. Kenya's upholstery workshops build seating one piece at a time, and that pace is visible in the consistency of the channelling here. Buying through Kamara connects you directly to the small studios doing that work, and means the piece arriving in your home was assembled by people, not by a production line.
