Small irregularities across the fibre surface show where the maker's hands worked, and no two baskets settle into exactly the same shape. The coconut basket forms the body of the planter, a russet-brown mass of fine, matted fibre with a coarse, slightly shaggy texture that catches the light. A dark ribbed frame runs in vertical bands around the outside and gathers at the rim, where three lengths of chain rise to a single ring for hanging. The bowl is generous and rounded, wide at the mouth and tapering gently to a soft base.
