The Sitiki Bedside Chest is a two-drawer bedside chest handcrafted in Kenya from board. It was made by hand in a small workshop, where the case was squared, the drawer fronts fitted and the surface brought to an even, low-sheen white. The restraint is deliberate: nothing here competes for attention, and the detail reveals itself slowly. The chest is built from board and reads as a clean rectangular case set on a recessed plinth, which lifts the body slightly off the floor. Fine horizontal grooves run across the drawer fronts and continue around the side panels, catching light along their edges and giving the pale surface quiet depth. Two drawers open on slim metal bar pulls with knurled ends, warm-toned against the white. Corners are crisp and the top is flat and uninterrupted. Placed beside a bed, this bedside chest holds a lamp, a stack of books and a candle on top, with the drawers taking the smaller things you want out of sight. It suits a bedroom with linen, jute and pale walls, though it also works as a compact storage piece in a hallway or beside a reading chair. The top sits at a height that keeps a glass of water within reach.
