The Nandi Armchair is an upholstered armchair handcrafted in Kenya on a bluegum frame. The silhouette is drawn in one continuous curve, from the rolled arm through the low back and down into a deep, single-cushion seat. Contrast piping traces that line, so the shape reads clearly even from across a room. It is a chair made to be sat in slowly rather than perched on. Bluegum forms the internal structure, wrapped in a warm burnt-orange upholstery with a soft, light-catching nap. A pale cord runs along the arm tops, around the seat cushion and across the plinth base, dividing the volume into three calm bands. The arms are wide and flat enough to rest a forearm or a book on. The base sits close to the floor, which keeps the proportion grounded and low.
