The Adumu Media Sideboard is a low media sideboard handcrafted in Kenya from board and marble. It is built around a long, horizontal body with softly rounded ends, a shape that takes patience to form and finish evenly. The making shows in the alignment of the drawer faces and in the way the curve resolves into the flat front. The cabinet body is made of board in a pale, close-grained finish, topped with a marble slab whose veining runs in warm ochre lines across a light ground. A slim golden band traces the join between top and body, and the same tone returns in the round knobs and the open geometric legs. Two glazed doors sit at the centre, framed by four drawers, while the end panels are fluted in narrow vertical ribs that catch the light differently through the day. This sideboard is sized for a living room wall beneath a mounted television, with the glazed compartments holding what you want visible and the drawers absorbing remotes, cables and papers. The raised legs leave floor showing underneath, which keeps a long piece from reading as heavy. It sits comfortably against plaster, over timber floors or on a woven rug.
